Special Skills & Experience
I'm a seasoned, award-winning filmmaker, DP and lighting professional with over 30 years experience in documentary, tv, commercial, corporate and feature film production. My work has screened at Sundance and over 50 film festivals. I spent ten years early in my career working in Los Angeles with several Emmy and ASC-winning DP's as both a gaffer and camera operator. I have been DP on five indie features, over 30 dramatic short films, and hundreds of commercial, TV and corporate projects. I have worked on major Hollywood motion pictures and talking head interview shoots and everything in between. I have worked with major national TV networks (Nat Geo, Discovery, History, Disney, PBS, Food, MTV, A&E, TLC, BBC) and major brands (DirecTV, Nike, Yamaha, Honda, Sony, Taco Bell, NCAA, Maytag, etc.)
I have an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in LA and have taught film production for many years at several different colleges and universities including American University in Washington, DC. I have trained hundreds of young filmmakers and many local crew members who are working today.
In this small market of SE TN, we have to wear many hats. I can serve as a 2nd unit director, DP, camera op, gaffer, electrician or grip on your shoot. I have professional credits in all of these roles and many others. If I can't do it for you, I will find a qualified pro who can. I speak camera, lighting and production fluently. Whatever and whoever you need for your shoot, I will help find it.
