First and most importantly, if anyone said that I could only do one thing in the movie business and one thing only, I’d easily choose being a screenwriter. But, because I’ve had extensive experience in all facets of filmmaking, I believe I can bring depth and creativity to a project while having a deep understanding of production.Inspired by a steady dose of Coen Brother’s films and Monty Python reruns over the last three decades, I have written over 15 screenplays, produced scores of short films, and directed scores of music videos and industrial films. After moving to Nashville, my wife and I produced an award-winning feature documentary, Being Lincoln: Men With Hats, which had a two-year run on The Documentary Channel in 2008 and also aired on Showtime. In 2015, I started principle photography of my self-produced, award-winning feature, FOGG. After great festival runs, FOGG was picked up by RedBox in 2018.In 2024, I worked finished a documentary about a 92 year old songwriter called 348 Songs: The Fred Burch Story. It’s ending his festival run in 2025 and I’ll be shopping distribution for it soon. Some of my writing highlights include:+ Strawberry Plains, a TV pilot I wrote which was in the Top 30 scripts in AMC’s Drama Pilot category at the 2018 Austin Film Festival+ Winner of the Tennessee Screenwriters award at the 2014 Nashville Film Festival with Driving Top Down+ My slow burn thriller, EMPATHY, was the winner of the Make This Movie Screenplay Competition (I made the movie https://www.foggthemovie.com )+ Optioned my feature script, Driving Top Down+ Two-time finalist in the Beverly Hills Film Festival Screenwriting Competition for Driving Top Down and Sink Swim+ Driving Top Down, a roadtrip dramedy, made the top 15% in the prestigious Nicholls Fellowship for screenwriting sponsored by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences
